Yes, Western Prairie Homestead is proud to be a NPIP-certified hatchery through the National Poultry Improvement Plan.
NPIP certification through the National Poultry Improvement Plan means our flock participates in a national program that helps monitor and prevent certain poultry diseases. Certified hatcheries follow strict biosecurity practices and have their birds routinely tested to help ensure healthy breeding stock and chicks. For our customers, it means greater confidence that the birds you bring to your homestead come from a carefully managed, health-focused flock.
We raise a variety of heritage and specialty breeds, including Black Copper Marans, Olive Eggers, and Bielefelders. Each season brings slightly different availability, so check our current offerings.
We are happy to offer you breeding trios as well as individual rabbits!
We typically have chicks and rabbits available March through September, with limited stock in the off season. Our website will always be up to date with our current availability. So be sure to check in!
*If you have questions regarding upcoming availability for certain breeds or ages please let us know!
At this time, we do not allow visitors to the homestead. This helps us maintain a safe, low-stress environment for our animals and allows us to stay focused on their care. We truly appreciate your understanding and are always happy to answer questions or share updates through our website and social pages.
