Western Prairie Homestead is a family-run homestead on the prairie of South Dakota, near the Black Hills. Rooted in family, hard work, and intentional living, we are passionate about raising quality animals and sharing the simple rhythms of homestead life.
We specialize in Bielefelder, Black Copper Maran, and Olive Egger chickens—breeds chosen for their hardiness, calm temperaments, and strong productivity. These birds thrive in backyard flocks and make dependable additions for both new and experienced chicken keepers. In addition to chicks and hatching eggs, we also raise Silver Fox rabbits, a heritage breed known for their gentle nature and practical qualities.
Everything we offer comes from our working homestead and reflects our commitment to thoughtfully raised animals and honest, homegrown living. We’re grateful to share a small piece of prairie life with fellow homesteaders and backyard flock keepers.
